30/04/2023

Exploring Ubud

After breakfast, we took a domestic flight from Jakarta to Denpasar Airport in Bali, which cost us about $100 per ticket. Upon arrival, we headed to our pre-booked hotel in Ubud, Tegal Sari Hotel, which costs around $60 per night.

In the afternoon, we visited the Ubud Palace and Ubud Market to experience Bali’s artistic atmosphere. At the palace, we admired the exquisite carvings and architectural style, and had the chance to watch a local traditional dance performance. At Ubud Market, we found various handicrafts such as wood carvings, paintings, and weaving. These works were full of artistic feelings, which made it hard for us to take our eyes off them.

Babi Guling Night

For dinner, we tried Babi Guling (roast pork), a signature Balinese cuisine. This dish is prepared by marinating the pork and slowly roasting it in a charcoal oven, which makes the pork skin crispy and the meat tender and juicy. We enjoyed this delicious food very much and were also glad to share the joy of local cuisine with the Balinese people.

After dinner, we walked back to the hotel and met a local Indonesian couple on the way. We had a simple conversation in English, and they told us they were newlyweds on their honeymoon nearby. We congratulated them on their love and were happy for the chance to meet them.

Today’s itinerary allowed us to experience Bali’s strong artistic atmosphere and unique cuisine. Tomorrow, we will continue to explore the Ubud area and look forward to more wonderful moments.
